The Type Z Benefit Program initially focuses on catastrophic illnesses, which are life-threatening and require extensive treatment. The conditions covered include:

  • Childhood Acute Lymphocytic (Lymphoblastic) Leukemia (ALL).
  • Early-stage Breast Cancer (Stages 0 to IIIA).
  • Prostate Cancer (Low to Intermediate Risk) Requiring Prostatectomy.
  • Kidney Transplant for End-Stage Kidney Disease.

Who Is Eligible?

The program is available to all eligible PhilHealth members under the following categories:

  • Employed sector
  • Individually paying members
  • Lifetime member program participants
  • Sponsored program members
  • Overseas workers program participants

Qualified dependents of these members are also entitled to avail of the benefits provided by the Type Z Benefit Program.

Program Description

The Type Z Benefit Program offers additional coverage for severe medical conditions to help ease the financial burden on patients and their families. The program provides comprehensive coverage for the identified illnesses, including:

  1. Package Costs:
    • Childhood Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL): ₱210,000.00 for complete treatment.
    • Early-stage Breast Cancer: ₱100,000.00 for complete treatment.
    • Prostate Cancer: ₱100,000.00 for complete treatment.
  2. Included Services:
    • Hospital room and board fees.
    • Laboratory exams and medications.
    • Operating room charges.
    • Professional fees for doctors and specialists.
    • Other mandatory services necessary for the treatment course.

This package is designed to cover the entirety of the treatment process, ensuring patients receive the required care without excessive financial strain.
